We're thrilled to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the incredible individuals who generously devoted their time and energy to support the #tokomezafistula hackathon. Your unwavering commitment and passion have been instrumental in spreading awareness and driving positive change in the fight against fistula.

The hackathon session was a resounding success, with a fantastic turnout of 50 attendees representing diverse sectors, all united by a common goal: to support CCBRT in its mission to provide relief to those suffering from fistula and work towards eradicating this devastating condition.

During the session, we identified three key pain points that will guide our efforts moving forward:

  1. Recording Surgeries for Training Materials: One critical aspect is the need to record surgeries to create valuable training materials for surgeons. By documenting these procedures, we can enhance surgical techniques and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

  2. Interactive Awareness Campaigns: We recognized the importance of designing new and innovative awareness campaigns to educate the public about fistula, its causes, and available treatments. Through interactive and engaging initiatives, we aim to raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding this condition.

  3. Post-Operation Follow-Up Communication: Effective communication between counselors and patients post-operation is essential for ensuring ongoing support and monitoring. We're committed to developing solutions that streamline this process, making it easier for counselors to connect with patients and provide the necessary follow-up care.

Over the next few weeks, we'll continue to collaborate closely with the team from CCBRT to build out these solutions and make meaningful progress in addressing these challenges. If you're passionate about making a difference and want to get involved, we'd love to hear from you! Shoot us a message, and let's work together to drive positive change and support those affected by fistula.

"Once again, thank you to each and every one of you for your invaluable contributions to the #tokomezafistula hackathon. Together, we're making a difference and bringing hope to those in need. Let's continue to stand united in our fight against fistula". JP Barretto.
