The Honorable Minister Joyce Ndalichako was deeply impressed by the remarkable talent showcased by girls from the AppsandGirls organization during a recent event. These young girls, representing various secondary schools in Dar es Salaam, captivated the minister's attention with their impressive coding skills.

One standout coder, Zainab Omary from Benjamin High School, demonstrated her coding prowess to the Minister of Education, leaving her astonished by the level of proficiency displayed. This powerful demonstration underscored the importance of integrating coding and comprehensive ICT training into the education curriculum.



In her speech following the exhibition, Minister Ndalichako emphasized the critical need for such skills in today's technology-driven world. Recognizing the significance of equipping students with the tools they need to thrive in the digital age, she advocated for the inclusion of coding and deep ICT training in the new curriculum.


This transformative event was organized by Africa Code Week and took place at the prestigious Sea Cliff Hotel in Dar es Salaam on October 23, 2017. Through initiatives like #eskills4girls and Africa Code Week, efforts are being made to empower young women with the digital skills they need to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven world.
